Throughout the busy weekend I just had, I thought a lot about what it means to be an “Artist” and if I can consider myself an artist.  Of course I do think of myself as an artist, but today there are so many artists, photographers and creative people out there that its hard to shine.  So that leaves one with the responsibility of being an artist for one’s own sake.  I make art cause I enjoy it, and I want others to enjoy it.  Of course I want to be noticed and famous for the work that I do, because that means that I did it right.

 

For those of you who are interested in art, there are a million different directions one can go to find their fix.  Currently I go to the local bookstore and buy a magazine called Juxtapoz to get my fix of art that relates to me.  I’ve read that people don’t take such artists in that magazine seriously and the magazine itself, but for the art that I like, that mag has a lot.  You might want to check it out.

 

I got a new DVD from a workshop given last year, and I have yet to watch it, but from the workbook it came with...its GREAT.  I might tell ya more about it later.
